NATIONAL TOURNAMENT COMES TO MEMPHIS

After a successful Gay Games VII, the National Gay Basketball Association (NGBA) has selected Memphis, TN as the site of its 2007 national tournament. Events will occur Saturday, October 27, 2007 from 8:00am until 4:00pm and Sunday, October 28, 2007 from 8:00am until 3:00pm*. You can guarantee your teams participation by pre registering and paying a $100 non refundable fee that will go towards your registration fee TBD. Guest admission is free, so invite your friends to come watch. Official tournament registration will begin September 1, 2007. More information will be available soon.

There are a total of 16 slots available for the tournament. Team space is still available. There will also be social events after each days play. Teams are expected from as far away as London to participate. Don't miss your opportunity to be a part of the fun.

NGBA's purpose is to foster inclusion and sportsmanship. The motto of NGBA is "The International GLBT and Friends Association that unites athletes and cultures through basketball."

PLAYERS NEEDED

Games Run Year Round

All Skill Levels Welcome!

We are looking for players for a gay and lesbian basketball league.

All teams must purchase their own uniforms. All skill levels are welcome! The games will occur Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6pm.

Only $60 pays for the courts for the entire season, so if you're looking to meet new people, get some exercise, or simply have fun: Join Us!

Practice and scrimmages are held on Wednesday nights 6pm-9pm. Practice and scrimmages are held during off-season as well for players who register early. Anyone who has paid their $60 court fee can participate in the scrimmages, which will be on Wednesday nights 6pm-9pm.

SPONSORS NEEDED

We are seeking sponsors for the tournaments, as well as out of state competitions. Memphis Gay Basketball League participates in national competitions such as Gay Games.

GAYMES

Memphis Gay Basketball League participates in the MGLCC's annual Gaymes. The games will be in October. The basketball event will be a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. The top three teams will be honored with ribbons. Teams need to sign up for the upcoming event by emailing Herschel and saying that they want to participate in the Gaymes event.
